By the end of the year 2001, the Mulam Ethnic Minority in Guangxi has a total population of 168,000, which accounts for 98% of the whole population of the Mulam Ethnic Minority and for 0.35% of the population of whole autonomous region. The Mulam Ethnic Minority takes a sixth place in terms of population among all ethnic groups in Guangxi. The Mulam people mainly live in Mulam autonomous county of Luocheng in the north of Guangxi. A small portion scatters around Yizhou City, Liucheng, Rongshui, Xincheng, Liujiang, Hechi and Huangjiang, which are in the neighborhood of the Mulam Autonomous County. The areas where the Mulam ethnic people live have picturesque sceneries and a pleasant climate.
