International students studying in China is invariably highly concerned by Chinese government. In 1950, international students were accepted in China. After the implement of the policy of reform and opening-up, the number of international students studying in China increased rapidly. Statistics shows that there were altogether 141 thousand international students from 190 countries studying in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government in 2005, including junior college students, undergraduate students, master degree candidates, doctoral candidates and language students, advanced students and scholars.
