Fu Lin, lyrics and song composer, was born on January 17th, 1946, in Fuji City, Hei Longjiang province, and graduated from the Music Department of the Academy of Art of  the People's Liberation Army. He used to be a performer, deputy director, and art instructor with the Navy Art Association . He is currently the deputy director of the Development Council of Music Association and vice chairman of the China institute of Light Music.

Having pursued art for nearly 40 years, Fu Lin composed many songs that have won universal praise. His works include Sun is the reddest and Chairman Mao is the dearest, Mother's Kiss, Loulan Lady, Affection towards Mother town, etc. Of his songs he said humbly that, "I am content with any song that is loved by ordinary people." Surely, many of the songs that he likes most were not the most popular among the critics. But he is at peace with it. He said, "We have to get used to such result as long as we have chosen art as our career."

Fu Lin used to compose a great deal of lyrics and songs for movies and TV series, such as Tide In and Out, Affection between Lovers, Zhu De, Liu Shaoqi, and so on. He used to be the judge of many music competitions both at home and abroad. He created the magazine Fans' World and was the chief editor. At present, composing is only one part of Fu Lin's work. What he is most passionate about is researching music theories and teaching young people.

In 1986 and 1987, Fulin's Personal Music Works Concert was respectively held in Harbin and Xi'an. In 2001, CCTV's Fashion of Music and Paintings held a special performance of Fulin's works.
