Xu Peidong was born on February 1st, 1954, in Da Lian. In 1970, he was enrolled by Song and Dance Troop of Fuzhou Military Area, as principal first cello, conductor, and composer. In 1976, he was enrolled by the department of composition at the Central Conservatory of Music. In 1985, he was redeployed into China Theater as composer and conductor. He is national first-rank composer, and deputy chairman of the China Academy of Light Music. In 1992 and 1996, he was honored as one of the "top 10 composers of China". In 1996, he was awarded the "composition achievement in the glorious 20 years of China's music world" award and "achievement in China's pop-music" award.
Xu composed a good number of works, which include opera Affection of General, pantomime Flower of Date, movie music Rock and Roll Youth, and TV series music Fence, Women, and dog, Yong Zheng Empire. His representative songs include My Beloved Hometown, the Shadow of Fence, Cannot Live Like This, Life is not Windlass, Spice Girl, Love our China,etc. Total:1 Page: 1
