Zhang Ye who comes from Hunan is a capable folk singer in China. Zhang Ye graduated from the China Conservatory of Music, majoring in singing, and being taught by famous singer teacher, Jin Tielin. In 1995, she got earned her Masters Degree in vocal music. Now, she is a young teacher at the China Conservatory of Music.
It wasn't long before Zhang Ye got the third prize in the National Youth Singers TV Competition and the golden prize in the National Excellent Singers Inviting Competition. In 1990, she got the "favorite singer" award in the BTV 1980-1990 Brilliant Performances Contest. Then she was chosen through a popular vote as one of the audiences' favorite singers. In 1995, she participated in the CCTV New Year Performance and sang a song called "All things are Fine" which got the outstanding program prize. In the same year, she got the "Golden Album" prize. During her studies and performances, Zhang Ye performed a lot of grand stage operas. She visited lots of countries and regions, such as the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Japan, and Hong Kong. She is liked and welcomed by audiences all around the world. Zhang ye can sing different styles of folk songs. She has an aptitude for music; no matter if it is a folk ditty, or a Chinese folk opera. Her voice possesses many characteristics: tenderness, warmth, clarity, and sweetness. Some music reviewers describe her singing as "like crystal-clear water that is melted from the snow mountain, popping on the rocks, playing in the green trees, rejoicing in the grassland, leaving clusters of laugher."
