Song Zuying is one of the most capable young singers in modern China.
On July 27th 1966, Song Zuying was born to a Miao ethnic family in Hunan province. In July 1981, Song Zuying graduated from middle school. In the same year, the opera troupe of her hometown recruited new performers. Because her father had just died, she entered the examine room with grief. One month later, she was accepted into this opera troupe. Later, she was transferred to Tujia Ethnicity Sing and Dance Troupe. Less than a year later, Song Zuying entered the Central university of Nationality, majoring in singing and dancing. Then she graduated in 1987. In a competition held in Changsha in 1988, she won the golden prize with a Miao style song, "My Lover, Don't Go Away". And later, one of the judges, renowned music teacher, Jin Tielin found her and took her as his student. Then she became famous overnight in the CCTV Spring Festival Party, with her song "Little Back Basket". In 1991, she was transferred to the Chinese People's Liberation Army Naval Political Department Sing and Dance Troupe. Song Zuying's music range is very wide, and her voice is sweet. She uses bel canto in her music. As a result, she has her own unique singing style.
