Cheng Zhi, is a Chinese famous tenor. He is a member of Chinese Musician Association, a performer in the Chinese People's Liberation Army General Political Department Sing and Dance Troupe. Born in 1946, he joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army in 1962, entered the General Political Department Sing and Dance Troupe in 1965, and graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music, majoring in opera in 1983, being taught by Chinese famous singing teacher, professor Shen Xiang.

Cheng Zhi's pronunciation is clear, his voice is bright, and his high pitch is brilliant and magnificent. He performs Italian traditional bel canto smoothly. Also, he can control his volume and timber and has great range. He has performed the hero in Shi Guangnan's work: "Grieve over the deceased". In spite of this, Cheng Zhi has participated many full-length operas as the lead, which have been praised by Chinese and foreigners.
