Biluochun is a world famous green tea, produced in Dongting Mt. on Tai Lake, Wuxi, Jiangsu province. There's a quite moving story about the origin of the tea.

It is said that there lived a girl named Biluo on the Dongting Mountain. She was a smart and kind girl, and sang very beautifully. Anyone who heard her singing would forgot his weariness. Because of the happiness she brought, everyone in the village like her.

But suddenly an evil dragon came, he did many bad things, and wanted Biluo to be his wife. Villagers were very angry at what it did. They refused to marry Biluo. The dragon thus flied into a rage. He kept on harming the villagers by blowing heavy winds.

This was known by a young man named A Xiang. A xiang is a kind and brave fisherman, and is very good at swimming. He loved Biluovery much, but dared not tell her. Everyday, he would came to hear her singing. Now, when he heard the dragon threatened to marry Biluo, he was in full force, and swore to kill the dragon for Biluo.

With a fish fork, brave A Xiang fighted with the dragon in seven days and seven night. Finally, he killed it. But also badly hurt, his blood kept on running out. Villagers were very sad at the sight of it. They cleaned the injuries in his body, and took him back.

Moved by A Xiang's bravery, Biluo made up her mind to cure his injuries. So everyday, she would get up early, and climb mountains to look for herbal medicines. One day, when she passed the place where A Xiang fought with the dragon, she found a small tea tree, having many green buds coming out despite the cold winter day. She picked the buds, put it in her mouth, took back home, make a cup of tea, and gave it to A Xiang.

Surprisingly, A Xiang felt well as soon as he drank that. Biluo was very happy, so she decided to make the tea everyday. Day after day, A Xiang became healthy again, but Biluo, because she put her soul in the tea, became weaker and weaker. Finally, she left the world with a peaceful smile.

To be in memory of this kind girl, the tea made from this tree was from then on called "Bi Luo Chun".
