The Dai nationality used dark-red color cloth as wedding quilt (as well as the waist part of their wedding clothes), for this color symbolized vigorous child-bearing ability of their nation. (For the same reason, their wedding quilts were also using the same color.)

The worship of the Naxi nationality is a tiger. It is said that their ancestor came from paradise riding on a tiger. When a man on the tiger was watched from the side, the figure formed a "cross"("+").Thus, their wedding quilts always had patterns "cross" no matter how you look at them. However, it is very interesting that there were some "cross" in the clothes of the Zhang nationality. Why? We have not understood yet.

According to the custom of Naxi nationality, when a girl marry, the mother give daughter with her wedding quilt, and the daughter will give the quilt to her daughter...

When a daughter married, this old wedding quilt had became a chair mat.
