As a famous historical and cultural village in China, Stone-bridge Town of Daxian County in Sichuan Province boasts a great many cultural relics. Among them, the eleven well-preserved sloping flagstone streets from the Qing Dynasty are characterized by the architectural style in eastern Sichuan.

In Stone-bridge Town which is 71 kilometers away from the county, there is a 694-meter Lenin Street whose full name is Leninism Street. From the east to the west on the street tower four lofty stone memorial archways. Archway One was erected in 1869, namely, the eighth year during the reign of Emperor Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty. With a base which is 3.3 meters thick, the archway is 7.04 meters wide and as a whole, 8.00 meters tall. Archway Two was established at a time close to that of Archway One. With a base 3.1 meters thick, it is 7.20 meters wide and as a whole, 8.8 meters tall. Archway Three was built in 1870, namely, the ninth year during the reign of Emperor Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty. With a base 2.70 meters thick, it is 9.50 meters wide and as a whole, 8.70 meters tall. Archway Four was built in 1900, namely, the 26th year during the reign of Emperor Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty. With a base 3.70 meters thick, it is 7.50 meters wide and as a whole, 8.50 meters tall. These four memorial archways are all made of bluestone plates, with each plate 0.50 to 0.58 meter thick and 5 to 6 meters long. The archways are featured by three-layered corbel brackets and multi-layered upturned eaves. With round dragon-phoenix sculptures engraved high on the main ridges, all except Archway 3 are decorated with openwork floral designs on the upturned eaves, thus making a magnificent sight. There is a design named "Five Dragons Holding the Saint" engraved on top of each archway. Besides, there are a number of carvings on the other layers, including the "Eight Immortals", "Legend of Putuo Crag", historical stories like "Swearing Brotherhood in the Peach Garden," "Combat between Three Heroes and Lvbu," "Twenty-four Stories of Filial Piety," as well as designs like flower, animal, musical instrument, chess, painting and calligraphy. Among all the carvings, there are 480 figures, 16 designs of animals and 15 floral patterns. Particularly, round sculptures alternate with embossed and painted ones, highlighting the unique artistic style of each kind.

Once in 1933, Xu Xiangqian stationed the Red Army here. Also it was on the street that poor people from the neighborhood gathered to fight the local despot, redistribute the land and establish a soviet government. As a result, a "red" mark has been left here.
