On the evening of March 31, the activity Earth Hour for generation was organized by Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia and the theme is "green planet". The staff, teachers and students actively participate in the activity, practicing the idea of low-carbon living and environmental protection. At the beginning, Chinese director He Yi pointed out that the aim is to promote environmental protection concepts and to call on more people to join the movement to create a green planet for our own homeland. Then all the teachers and students spoke their minds with banners "Start from me, the energy conservation", "Low-carbon economy, green home", "To protect the environment, for the benefit of years"-- The words full of passion had attracted more people to participate in the event. "Earth Hour" campaign is an initiative of the World Wildlife Fund in 2007, calling on people around the world to switch off the lights for one hour from local time 20:30 to 21:30 on the last Saturday every month in order to inspire people's sense of responsibility to protect the Earth and thinking on climate change and other environmental issues, and expressing they support joint efforts against global warming. The advocacy of Earth Hour was put forward in Sydney in 2007 for the first time and has rapidly swept the world. Total:1 Page: 1
