An Olympic Wind is blowing from Mandarin Class--New Line Learning & Cornwallis Academy Confucius Classroom's Mandarin Olympic month2012-5-4 16:48:00 From: http://english.hanban.org
April 18, the 100-day countdown to the London 2012 Olympic began. The historical moment lighted high enthusiasm for Olympic from all over the world especially in Britain. Secondary school students from New Line Learning & Cornwallis Academy, the Schools Network (SSAT) Confucius Classroom, used their own way to express their inner expectation and joy. Mandarin teacher Lu Wang and Hanban teacher Di Ma set the Mandarin learning theme of April as "sports and the Olympics". The four sections--"Learn sports with me" "Design Sports postcards" "Let's go to watch Olympic" and "I'm a champion"-- closely linked promoting Mandarin with participating in the Olympic. As a wonderful prelude to series of Mandarin learning, students designed beautiful postcards in small groups. They used either color pencils or computers to design pictures for their favorite Olympic sports, along with both pinyin and Chinese characters. Accompanied with the Olympic song "Beijing welcomes you", everyone conveyed their expectations and blessings for the London 2012 Olympic. "My ideal job is to be a taxi diver. I want to help Olympic. I want to help athletes to carry their equipments." Ross, a year 9 student said excitedly. This seemingly simple, trivial dream revealed most people's heartfelt wishes -- to make effort for the Olympic. Total:1 Page: 1
