On 4th of May, a training program on Chinese culture was provided for the Archimedes Fundation, Estonia by CITU.

The Archimedes Fundation is a well known international Esonian educational institute, who has played an active role in the cooperation between China and Estonia. In order to remove the obstacles in exchanges, the fundation orgainzed 25 project officials who take in charge of the enrollment affairs in Estonia to learn the basic knowledge about Chinese society and culture as well as some daily Chinese expressions.

CITU made a careful preparation for this training according to the need of the institute. The teacher of CIT introduced Chinese history, culture and beliefs with vivid description, brief and clear charts and pictures. Considering the participants' job nature, the teacher specially explained some matters related with some attentiona deserved matters in educaitonal activities and exchanges in China.

The participants practised speaking in measured tones with curiosity and repeatedly practised the daily used Chinese sentences. They also learnt some pracitical communicative skills for travelling, for example exchanging greetings, selfintroductions, exchanging currency, ordering dishes, purchasing and bargaining ect.

The participants were satisfied with the content and forms of the training, considering it very helpful when their commucating with Chinese univeristies and colleges and students. Some also expressed their interests in learning Chinese and registered for the Summer course provided by CITU.CITU will also offer follow-up training courses for the Archimedes Fundation's demand.
