May 18th, Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia (UNZA) launched Chinese language promotional activities in Mulungushi University, Zambia. Chinese language will first become one of its compulsory courses of the School of Social Science in Mulungushi University, which will initiate in August this year. Mulungushi University is one of the three public universities in Zambia, also one of the Chinese teaching sites. In less than a year, it has successfully launched four Chinese language classes and four martial arts classes as well as Chinese promotions and cultural campaigns, which has a deep and widespread influence on teachers and students in Mulungushi University. In early May, the board meeting of was held in Mulungushi University, reaching the agreement that Chinese language will be offered as compulsory course at the International Relations, School of Social Science next semester (mid-August). This marks Confucius Institute at UNZA has reached a new high in the Chinese language and cultural transmission. In order to let more students understand China, Chinese Director, Ms.He Yi and Chinese teacher, Mr. Wang Jinzhong came to Mulungushi University again and did another in-depth Chinese cultural promotion. Professor Ali, the dean of the School of Social Science and the director of Students Department attended this event. During the promotion, Ms.He Yi introduced the achievements that Confucius Institute had gained in less than two years; displayed rich pictures and showed the nice prospects for learning Chinese language.
