n May 15, 2012, at the aula of Vistula University opening ceremony was held for Confucius Classroom at Vistula University with Wushu feature under Confucius Institute at Adam Mickiewicz University of Poland. Mr. Sun Yuxi, Chinese Ambassador in Poland, Mr. Liu Wansheng, major official of Education Office of Chinese Embassy in Poland, and head of Asia-Pacific Session of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, and consultant of Secretary Office of Ministry of Education of Poland, Mr. Dariusz Piwowarski, president of Polish Wushu Federation, Ms Shen Lan, chairwoman of Sino-Poland Friendship Association Warsaw Branch, delegation from Tianjin University of Technology led by Dr. Shi Qingwei, vice secretary of TUT Communist Party Committee, Mr. Krzysztof Rybinski, Rector of Vistula University, and Mr. Arif Erkol, chancellor of Vistula University, were present at the opening ceremony. Present also were Ms Sylwia Witkowska, director of Confucius Institute at Adam Mickiewicz University and Prof. Yang Jianhua, Chinese director of CI at UAM.

Mr. Krzysztof Rybinski spoke highly of profound Chinese culture in his opening address and promised to support the development of Confucius Classroom with every effort.

Mr. Sun Yuxi congratulated the opening of the first Confucius Classroom in the capital city of Warsaw on behalf of Chinese government and Chinese Embassy in Poland. He said:�� Recently the relationship between China and Poland developed rapidly. And the visit by Wen Jiabao, Premier of China, has enhanced the exchange between China and Poland in many fields.�� He extended his good wish that Confucius Classroom would continue innovation and exploration for school-running mode that would meet the demands of Polish society, and Confucius Classroom should become a base of teaching and cultural research in Warsaw area and contribute more to the cultural exchange between Chinese culture and Polish culture.

Dr. Shi Qingwei talked about Tianjin University of Technology, in the hope of a closer cooperation with other sides in Poland, and enforcement of the construction of Confucius Classroom so as to provide Chinese teaching and Wushu coaching to Warsaw and around area.

Head of Asia-Pacific Session of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, and consultant of Secretary Office of Ministry of Education of Poland also made speech of congratulations on the opening of Confucius Classroom.

At the end of opening ceremony, Mr. Li Qikun, Chinese director of Confucius Classroom at Vistula University sung a Peking opera piece. Wushu Team from Tianjin University of Technology performed a large-scale martial arts show in the name of Wushu Team of China, with Miss He Xijing, a graduate from TUT and now major coach of Polish National Wushu Team, and Mr. Michał Ignatowicz, general coach of Polish National Wushu Team, as host and hostess of the Wushu show. Wonderful martial art performance revealed the Wushu characteristics of the Confucius Classroom.

More than 200 People from Chinese institutes in Poland, Chinese invested organizations, as well as friends from various circles and Chinese student studying in Poland now, participated in the opening ceremony.

Confucius Classroom at Vistula University after the opening ceremony shall be operated as a project of Confucius Institute at Adam Mickiewicz University, managed and instructed by Confucius Institute at Adam Mickiewicz University, with Tianjin University of Technology as Chinese cooperative college, Vistula University as Polish cooperative college, Confucius Institute at Adam Mickiewicz University as hosting and administrative institute, Polish Wushu Federation and Polish National Wushu Team as supporting organization relevant to Wushu. Confucius Classroom at Vistula University shall aim at various Chinese cultural exchanges, Wushu as main characteristic and Chinese language teaching. Polish Wushu Federation and Polish National Wushu Team played an irreplaceable role in the establishment of Confucius Classroom, which will continue in the development of Confucius Classroom with Wushu as major feature.
