Four years on the NWSUAF campus2012-6-28 16:45:00 From: http://www.csc.edu.cn
When I started college as an undergraduate in 2000, I could have never imagined where my choices in life would lead me. At the time, I was focused on my general studies and I had no idea what I would do beyond that. Eight years later, I am getting ready to walk across the stage and receive my Ph.D. from the College of Environmental Science and Natural Resources.
Over the past four years I have been studying at the Northwest A&F University (NWSUAF) in Yangling. Living abroad has without a doubt been my toughest challenge. However, all of my experiences here in Yangling have taught me to expand my horizons, both academically and personally. I have learned that when you work closely with a group of people they become like family. I have worked with some good researcher associates as well as all around good people since I started working on my Ph.D. project. Moreover, groups like the Daily have had an enormous impact in my social interactions. Without the Daily as a common ground, I never would have found people who share my obsessive urge to talk about issues as a "Community". If it were not for the people at the Daily, it's all too likely that I would have spent my time in Yangling as an isolated, socially inept film buff instead of as an outgoing, somewhat socially accepted film buff. I have also participated in most of the International academic activities held at NWSUAF. My studies have been focused on Biosorption of heavy metals from Environment by using microorganism isolated from crop stress in Mine Tailings. During my time at NWSUAF I have published a 5 SCI paper with high impact factor ranged from 2.5 to 1.0. I also have two other papers under publication. In addition to papers, I have been awarded six national certificates from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of the International Cooperation, 2008-2011, China. I also received a certificate from Gansu Natural Energy Research Insinuate UNIDO international Solar Energy Center for Technology promotion, 2011, China. Four years on the NWSUAF campus provides a well-rounded experience. And you're always going to leave wishing you could have done more. I consider myself lucky to have accomplished all that I have been able to. The more that I have done, the more I have realized that this was the place for me. Studying in china as a Ph.D. student has changed part of who I am. I had to stop being a quiet person hiding in the background and become a person who will stand in the spotlight and face the responsibility of having a story with my name on it. Finally, I would like to thank my supervisor Prof. Dr. Wei Gehong for instilling in me the qualities of being a good scientist. His infectious enthusiasm and unlimited zeal have been major driving forces through my graduate career at Northwest A&F University. I would also like to thank my classmates Miss Li Wang, MI Cai-hong, Hao Xiuli, Lin Yangbin, Xie pin, Meili Zhou, Hongyan Chen, Zhaoyu Kong, Mr. Junpeng Zhan and Mr. Zhefei Li, for their guidance and help over the past four years. It has been a pleasure working with them. I offer sincere apologies to anyone who I may have unintentionally excluded. I thank all of you very much and wish you all the best of luck. On the fresh morning of 8th April, 2012 I had successfully given my defense arguments of PhD dissertation and it been wonderful experience to me for change from Mr. Osama to Dr. Osama. Goodbye and Best Wishes, Suez Canal University, Egypt Total:1 Page: 1
