June 1st, 2012 C Sixty-seven guest Chinese language teachers selected and dispatched by Hanban, the eighth batch of its kind, arrived at Kathumandu, capital of Nepal and kicked off their 1-year long volunteer service. Chinese Embassy in Nepal held a Welcome Ceremony and organized two-day pre-post training for the guest teachers. Political Counselor Wang Lixin, person-in-charge of the Cultural Office and Consular Office of the Embassy, Medin Lamichhane, representative of Nepalese universities, among other officials attended the training program. Ambassador Yang Houlan treated all volunteers with a banquet and encouraged them to dedicate and commit themselves to the great cause, making new contributions to China-Nepal friendship. The volunteers come from 8 universities and colleges in Hebei Province and Henan Province and were dispatched after strict selection and training by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters.
