Malagasy government joins Confucius Institute to promote bilateral cultural exchanges2012-7-27 15:30:00 From: http://english.hanban.org
On July 25, 2012, Mr. Rivo RABEHARIVELO, Director of the General Office of the Malagasy Ministry of Culture and Heritage visited Confucius Institute at University of Antananarivo (CIUA), accompanied by a diplomatic official from Chinese Embassy in Madagascar. The Chinese and Malagasy Directors of CIUA briefed the Chinese teaching and bilateral cultural exchange activities in the Institute over the past 3 years. Acknowledging that CIUA has become a local centre for Chinese language teaching, Chinese testing and Chinese=teacher training, and an important platform for Sino-Malagasy cultural exchanges, Mr. RABEHARIVELO was very pleased. He stresses that Malagasy Ministry of Culture and Heritage hopes to collaborate with CIUA to promote Sino-Malagasy cultural exchanges. After discussions, the Ministry will shoot a news program to promote the achievements CIUA has made in Sino-Malagasy educational and cultural exchanges. The Ministry will co-organize cultural events with CIUA. It will provide space and halls for CIUA to sponsor cultural events and take advantage of its media resources to report the bilateral cultural activities sponsored by CIUA. On July 28, 2012, the Ministry will organize media team to welcome Miss ISAIA HERIMIALY RATSIZAKAINA, a student of CIUA who has won the First Prize Award and the Best Appearance Award in the 11th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students held in China.
