KATHMANDU, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- China Radio International (CRI) Confucius Classroom marked its 3rd anniversary in capital Kathmandu amid a special ceremony. The classroom with a noble cause of helping blind students also marked the 57 years of establishment of Nepal-China diplomatic ties. Addressing the ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yang Houlan lauded the contribution of CRI Confucius Classroom in exchanging culture, tradition and teaching language to Nepali students. "Confucius is a great philosopher and educator who has proposed path of peaceful development and made great efforts to build a harmonious world," Houlan said. "Confucius classroom will continue to play the role as a bridge to connect people, constantly reinforce bilateral friendly ties," he said. According to Yang, China has provided a variety of economic and technical assistance to Nepal which has help improve the livelihood of Nepalese people. He further made commitment that China would continue to provide assistance to Nepal to promote Nepal's economic and social development. Meanwhile, Xi Feiyang, head of the CRI Confucius Classroom in Nepal, said that CRI Confucius Classroom has played an active role in deepening friendship between Nepal and China. "Cultural exchanges will help the two countries to know each other more clearly," he said. Xi added that Nepal-China relationship has been strengthened by Princess Bhrikuti, Artist Arniko and Manjushree. CRI has recently marked the 37 years of its service in Nepali language amid a special program in Kathmandu. In June 25, 1975, CRI officially launched its service in Nepali language.
