The University of Kentucky Confucius Institute (UKCI), in partnership with the Headley-Whitney Museum in Lexington, Kentucky, has brought a new exhibition to the local community entitled, Realized in Wood: Contemporary Prints from China. The opening reception was held at the Headley-Whitney Museum from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday August 5. Dr. Huajing Maske, UKCI's Director, Dr. Younghua Zhang, its China Partner Deputy Director, and other members of UKCI team participated in the opening reception. About 90 people took part in opening of this woodblock prints exhibition. The exhibition features woodblock prints from ten artists, offering a glimpse into the arts of the centuries-old tradition of Chinese woodblock prints. The exhibition will be hosted in the museum until Dec. 23 this year. Earlier this year, UKCI was in partnership with this local museum in bringing an exhibition about Chinese painting to the local community. Another new exhibition currently at the Headley-Whitney Museum is Tibetan Fashion: Photographs by Zhang Fuquan, displaying the arts of Chinese photography. Mr. Zhang is an award-winning photographer from Xian, Shaanxi Province of China, and is currently residing in Kentucky. Total:1 Page: 1
