After the just end of the second anniversary celebration, Confucius Institute of the University of Zambia began teaching Chinese courses at Mulungushi University on 6th September , which is one of the three public Universities in Zambia. This class had unusual significance because students regarded it as a University required course to choose, which opened a new era of Chinese courses teaching in Zambia. Efforts to pay are bound to have a huge return. From November 2011 to May 2012, He Yi, Chinese Director, Wang Jinzhong, Chinese teacher of the Confucius Institute made Chinese language teaching and cultural promotion activities for five times. MOU was signed successfully, four batches Chinese classes and martial arts classes were organized, which had a further expansion influence of Chinese language and Chinese culture at Mulungushi University . On 29th August 2012, as a compulsory course teaching plan, Chinese lesson was submitted to the Academic Committee, School of Social Sciences at Mulungushi University for consideration. After a two hour statement and respondent meeting, members adopted unanimously the commencement resolution. At this point, the first required course opened at Mulungushi University in Zambia has finally put down roots and ripened fruit. A ripple goes with a falling stone. With the establishment of compulsory courses at Mulungushi University, the practice of Chinese course at the other two public universities - Copper-belt University and the University of Zambia is progressing smoothly, Chinese compulsory course will be opened in March, next year and the new semester in August separately.
