Senior Chinese leader He Guoqiang has called for more efforts to support less wealthy students in colleges and to boost the college graduate employment. He, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during his four-day inspection tour, that ended on Thursday, of universities in Beijing. He called on Party organizations and government departments at all levels, as well as the universities, to give more support in policies, financial aid and study courses for students from underprivileged families to help them finish their college education. Moreover, He said that employment for college graduates is an important issue, and to boost the employment requires joint efforts by the government, society, universities and the students themselves. During his inspection tour, He visited the Renmin University of China, Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University, Peking University and his alma mater, Beijing University of Chemical Technology.
