KIEV, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian writer Victoria Ponomareva presented her book entitled "Little journeys across large China" Friday in the "E" bookshop in Kiev. The book, based on Ponomareva's four-year trip across China, features the luxury of Beijing, the local colors and ethnic flavors of the provinces, as well the majesty of the Great Wall and the sacred Huashan Mountain. "This book will help Ukrainians to learn more about this truly great and wonderful country. Readers will see a variety of China: a rich spiritual culture, colorful traditions and customs, national character and features of modern life," Ponomareva said during the presentation. In over 200 pages, the author introduces her readers to traditional Chinese painting (Guohua), an authentic Chinese wedding, the Terracotta Army in Xi'an, glamorous Shanghai, the Thousand-Buddha Cave in Dunhuang and a lot of other interesting places. The book will be sold across Ukraine at a price of 5 U.S. dollars. Ponomareva was born in 1960 in Kursk city in the then Soviet Union. She has lived and worked in Angola, Mozambique and Italy, besides China. Total:1 Page: 1
