HANOI, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam highly evaluates the effective implementation of UNESCO's projects in Vietnam in the areas of education, preservation of natural and cultural heritages, and sciences for sustainable development. Vietnam expects to receive further support from UNESCO in the coming years, especially in the areas of education and preservation of cultural heritages, said Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan at a meeting here with Eric Falt, UNESCO assistant director-general for external relations and public information. Eric Falt, also chief of UNESCO National Committees in Asia- Pacific region, said UNESCO highly praises the contributions made by the Vietnamese government and people to the organization as well as Vietnam's effort to preserve the values of the country's cultural, educational and scientific heritages, which helps enriching the world's cultural heritage treasure. Vietnam has seven world natural and cultural heritages, six intangible cultural heritages, eight biosphere reserves, three documentary heritages, and one geo-park. Falt is in Hanoi to attend the 35th founding anniversary of the UNESCO Vietnam Committee and a consultative conference of UNESCO National Committees in the Asia-Pacific region. Total:1 Page: 1
