The International Department is currently playing host to students from Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, Hong Kong, USA, Philippines, Korea, Japan and Malaysia. We also have regular visitors from other countries who come for a term or just for their holidays.

Studying Chinese in China is by far the most effective way to learn, and by coming to Shenzhen Shiyan Public School you get many advantages. The students have their own dedicated International building, eating areas and apartments. They are encouraged to mix with the Chinese students, and once their language skills have reached a satisfactory level they have the option of participating fully in Chinese classes.

Naturally the Chinese language classes are intensive, and are in addition to the Foundation Course incorporating all American High School core subjects.

All of our International students have ambitions to move on to Universities either in China, Europe or the United States upon completion of their education here in Shiyan.

For this reason we also offer TOEFL courses to develop our students English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. These are quite intensive classes and the exam must be passed in order to attend universities in many countries.

We also offer elective courses in many subjects such as music, sports, calligraphy and art. We currently split our International students into 5 classes.
