Xinjiang Medical University and Sun Yat-sen University Signed a Project Agreement of Joint Training of Students (Seven-Year Program)2013-3-15 13:55:00 From: Sun Yat-sen University
On the morning of February 26, Halmurat Upur, President of Xinjiang Medical University (XMU) and his entourage visited Sun Yat-sen University. Secretary Zheng Detao met with the guests. Both sides signed the "Project Agreement between Xinjiang Medical University and Sun Yat-sen University for Joint Training of Students (Seven-Year Program)" to have in-depth cooperation on talent cultivation. Xiao Haipeng, Director of the Dean's Office of Medical Education Affairs, Xie Fukang, President of Nanfang College (who worked in a volunteer teaching program at XMU and served as the Vice President of XMU in 2005) attended the signing ceremony. Secretary Zheng Detao welcomed President Halmurat Upur and his entourage. He said that the cooperation between the two universities on discipline construction, talent cultivation, cadre exchange and medical services was fruitful. SYSU would continue to exploit its resource advantages and promote the assistance work. President Halmurat Upur appreciated SYSU's support over the years and sincerely thanked the SYSU cadres who went to work in Xinjiang for their contribution to the development of XMU. He introduced the traits and advantages of XMU and its progress in discipline construction, educational philosophy and talent cultivation in recent years, and hoped to cooperate with SYSU in wider areas. President Halmurat Upur and his entourage also visited the Clinical Skills Center. According to the project agreement, XMU will send outstanding students (seven-year program) to SYSU for training in the second-level discipline of clinical medicine. The agreement will help to realize the sharing of education resources and the complementation of teaching plans between the two universities, and further promote the quality of talent cultivation at XMU.
