Sponsored by Liu Gongquan Academic Research Group and jointly organized by Fine Arts Research Institute of Chinese National Academy of Arts, School of Fine Arts of Nanjing Normal University and School of History and Culture of West China Normal University, the"Academic Symposium on Liu Gongquan (a famous calligrapher in Tang Dynasty)"was held in Liu's hometown--Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province recently. This symposium covered subjects like Liu's life and his art career, calligraphic style of Liu Gongquan and its history of criticism, calligraphic style of Liu Gongquan and modern calligraphic creation, Liu Gongquan and Yaozhou's cultural construction.
