DPU Held an Evening Party to Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival &National Day and Welcome the New Coming International Students2013-10-11 11:45:00 From: Dalian Polytechnical University
Earlier this month, Dalian Polytechnical University(DPU) welcomed her new students from Korea, Mongolia, Russia and other areas around the world. In order to help them enjoy their study life, learn both Chinese and its traditional cultures, the International Office held an evening party to celebrate the traditional Mid-Autumn festival and the upcoming National Day to welcome overseas students. Vice President, Ren Wendong, director of International Office, dean of School of Management and other faculty took part in this evening party. The party was held by international students in fluent Chinese. The international students, leaders and teachers of DPU gathered together singing and dancing to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day. Vice President, Ren Wendong delivered a speech on behalf of the DPU. He expressed his best wishes and hopes to the international students. He said that friendship between students and teachers could be enhanced and the international students could know more about the Chinese festivals in this joyous and harmonious atmosphere. Japanese students hosted the party with fluent Chinese. Students from Mongolia sang a song called New Beginning with youthful enthusiasm to warm up the atmosphere. Jin Dongyu from South Korea with soulful voice sang a Korean song called Eternal getting all the attentions of the audience. Students from Japan, Russia and other countries sang popular Chinese songs in chorus, wining lots of applause. Besides singing and dancing, the international students are good at playing musical instruments. For example, a female student played guitar and two classmates sang in tune, which left people a deep impression. At the same time, the Chinese teachers also favorably made their efforts to perform and sang a song called Nunchakus and Grateful Heart in chorus.
